referrals for infants & toddlers ages 0-3

BabyNet is South Carolina’s referral agency for children under 3 years old who are suspected to have a developmental delay or disability. Pediatric Early Intervention & Developmental Services works with BabyNet as a State authorized and approved service provider to meet the needs of infants and toddlers who may require developmental support. All referrals must go through BabyNet to be screened for eligibility and to select a provider. If deemed eligible through the BabyNet screening and evaluation process, you can then select PEIDS as your early intervention provider.

Anyone (individuals and professionals) with concerns about a young child’s development can make a referral for early intervention. The information you provide will be kept confidential. .To make a referral for a young child ages 0-3, you can call the BabyNet referral line at 1-866-512-8881 to speak with someone by phone,. You can also submit an online referral here. Be prepared to provide information about the child and the reason for your referral. In the case of an online referral, you will receive a confirmation email and someone from the BabyNet office will contact you for additional information. Children who meet eligibility criteria are served at no charge to families, regardless of family income. If your child is found eligible for early intervention services, you may select Pediatric Early Intervention & Developmental Services as your family's provider.
